FeLV and Cats

FeLV or Feline Leukemia Virus is a cat only disease that is spread by cat saliva and nasal discharge. Most cats have a strong immune system that works to fight the disease. However, once a cat tests positive it can infect other cats. FeLV is a cancer of the blood like in humans.

Cats and Colors

So your cat had kittens and they all look different colors? Some kittens coloring will not even be accurate until they are over a year. Many colors develop over the course of time. Another fact: Female cats can mate with different males and have a litter with as many different dads as there are kittens!

Feral Cats

Many people ask me all the time what a feral cat it. A feral cat is wild- one that has not been socialized to people. A lot of people do not understand feral cats and think they are pests to be eliminated especially because they spray, make a lot of noise at night, argue with each other and appear to ruin personal property. Sadly, because ferals are not usually altered, 4 cats can turn into 400 too quickly. This can lead to public health issues.
